Organisms with the genotypes AABbCCDd and AaBbCcDd are cross

Organisms with the genotypes AABbCCDd and AaBbCcDd are crossed. What are the expected proportions of the following progeny?

1. A_B_C_D_.

2. AabbCcDd

3. a phenotype identical to either parent.

4. A_B_ccdd

please help..

Solution

Answer:

AA x Aa = AA (1/2), Aa (1/2)

Bb x Bb = BB (1/4), Bb (1/2), bb (1/4)

CC x Cc = CC (1/2), Cc (1/2)

Dd x Dd = DD (1/4), Dd (1/2), dd (1/4)

1). A_B_C_D_

A_ = AA + Aa =1/2 + 1/2 = 1

B_ = BB + Bb = 1/4 + 1/2 = 3/4

C_ = CC + Cc = 1

D_ = DD + Dd = 3/4

1 * 3/4 * 1 * 3/4 = 9/16

The expected proportion of A_B_C_D_ progeny = 9/16

2)

The expected proportion of AabbCcDd progeny = 1/2 * 1/4 * 1/2 * 1/2 =1/32

3)

A phenotype identical to either parent means  AABbCCDd and AaBbCcDd`= (1/2 * 1/2 * 1/2 * 1/2) + (1/2 * 1/2 *1/2 *1/2)

= (1/16) + (1/16) = 1/8

4). A_B_ccdd

As cc phenotype is not possible, so the phenotype of A_B_ccdd is not possible.

Organisms with the genotypes AABbCCDd and AaBbCcDd are crossed. What are the expected proportions of the following progeny? 1. A_B_C_D_. 2. AabbCcDd 3. a phenot
