A DC motor is specified for a variable speed application. The purchasing department has found a synchronous motor for $50 less. Explain why that would or would not be a good choice to buy.

I choose not to buy Synchronous motor. Already mentioned that I need the application of variable speed which I could not achieve with Synchronous motor exactly. And the speed control techniques are available easily with DC motors.
