Critically discuss the strategies used to combat infections caused by HIV, and herpes and influenza viruses using antiviral agents.

The treatment for HIV, herpes and influenza virues are given below:
Treatment for HIV infection: For the treatment of HIV infection, the patient is treated with Antiretroviral therapy (ART). The patients have to take combination of HIV medicines to stop spreading it. This virus destroys the CD4 cells of the immune system which results in the weaker immune system of body. These treatment can cause headache or occasional dizziness, swelling of the mouth and tongue or liver damage, also death in some cases.
Herpes treatment: Herpes is caused by Herpes Simplex virus mostly effects mouth and genital region. Herpes is also a communicale disease which can be spread through direct contact. This is treated by Acyclovir, Famciclovir, Valacyclovir etc. The treatment is used for lowering the frequenct and intensity of outbreaks.
Influenza Virues: Antiviral agents can be used to lower the complications of infuenza virus. These agents are used for prevention of flu complications, like pneumonia etc.
