Symbiosis is a relationship between the organisms of two different species living with each other.

Mutualistic relationship :

A type of symbiotic relationship where the organisms of both the species are beniffeted by living together. For example dogs and humans mutually benifit each other.

Commensalistic symbiosis : A one-sided symbiotic relation where one if the organism is benefited while the other is not harmed nor benefitted. The organism which is benefited uses the other either for transportation or protection.

For example some plants such as the orchids or ferns gain many advantages by growing on sides of other heighted plants which give them a chance to reach a higher level in the forest canopy to access more sunlight. The host plants are not affected either negatively or positively by this relationship.

Parasitic symbiosis : One organism living inside the body or on the surface of the host is benefitted in such a relationship while the host is harmed. For example the lice in hair derive their nutrition while the host serving as their habitat is harmed getting unhygienic and infected.
