Why should you choose Agile Software Development Methodology over other methods?

Today\'s software requirements are highly market driven and extremely dynamic. So for a new product/software requirement the time elapsed in development also may be significantly high in this constantly-changing-need scenario. So after development when the product goes to market the requirements may not be that much valid.So we need a methodology which is adaptible to change. This adaption take input from various cross functional groups and updates the requirement.

Another reason is the estimation methodology used. Estimation varies on different factors like platform, productivity of the team, onshore-offshore co-ordination and so on, and also it might need some Proof-of-Concept (POC) or prototype for further estimation. All these can be better addressed in agile methodology mainly because of the following reasons:

1. Small (2-3)weeks sprint cycle

2. Small cross functional scrum team (8-10 members)

3. Taking input from everyone for estimation

4. Self organization of the team

These are the advantages of Agile methodology and would be preferred.
