Solution

From a moral standpoint I do agree with Klein’s statement. However, in reality we are far off from it.

Using common sense it is easy to determine for companies which product is good and bad socially. If all businesses acted in a socially responsible manner we would not have environmental or labor concerns we are facing today. Most (if not all) businesses are driven by profit maximization which is dependent upon an optimal solution to minimize costs. This leads to business cutting corners for safety, quality, workplace treatment and environmental impact.
