Can someone help me with this cybersecuity/computer network question. Also, can you explain how you got your answer, so I can understand it. Thank you,
Can two network interfaces have the same IP address? Why or why not?
Solution
No, two network interfaces cannot have same IP address. If they had same IP address then resolving DNS would be a conflict. An interface in a network should have unique IP address. However, underlying network for that interface can have IP same IP address. Underlying network is not exposed by network interface and address resolution is not dependent on external network. Conclusion, unique IP address of each network interface in a network.
