I was wondering if I could get help with solving problem number 6.

Here is Axiom B-2

6. In Axiom B-2, we were given distinct points B and D, and we as serted the existence of points A, C, and E such that AB D, BCDand B D E. We can now show that it was not neces sary to assume the existence of a point C between B and D because

Solution

The relation B*C*D was not required because according to betweenness axiom -3

If A, B, C be three distinct points on aline ,Then one and only one of the three points is between the other two.

So if we have already defined A*B*D and B*D*E   and we know that AC and E lie onl ine l having B and D

then C will have to lie in between B and D only since all other points are already defined and there can be only one point between two given points.
