What is cooperative allosteric transition (briefly)?

Solution

Allosteric transition: When a molecule bind with another molecule then it changes the binding properties of that molecule with other molecule. This allosteric mechanism is commonaly seen in regulation of enzymatic activity, Where an enzyme having multiple binding site interact with a molecule then the binding of the molecule (not at active site of enzyme) changes the binding affinity of active site of that enzyme. This allosteric transition may have positve effect (binding capacity with another molecule increases) or nagative effect (binding capacity with another molecule decreases). When allosteric transition have positive effect then this is known as cooperative allosteric transition (positive cooperativy) and when it has negative effect then it is known as negative coperativity.
