How does energy supply limit the length of food chain and what does this mean with regard to the number of members in the higher trophic levels compared to those of the bottom trophic levels?
Solution
when the energy flow as organic matter through the trophic level much of the energy lost as each link of food chain only 5-20 percent energy transfering from one link to another so only a small amount of energy reach to higher tropic level so it can support only lessor number of organism. where as in lower trophic level more number of organism.
