For students who are colorblind, a gram staining procedure has been developed which used Bismark brown instead of one of the other gram stain reagents. Which reagent can Bismark brown replace and how do you know that?

Solution

In traditional gram staining process, Safranin decolorizer reagent is used. In case of colorblind students Bismark brown. is used in place of Safranin because Safranin gives red/ pink color to gram negative bacteria and Red color is not distinguishable by color blind people.
