List the hormones released from the pancreas and the adrenal
List the hormones released from the pancreas and the adrenal glands, and indicate their control mechanisms. How does insulin regulate blood sugar levels? How does glucagon regulate blood sugar levels? Using a flow chart, show a homeostatic adjustment for a person who has consumed a significant amount of carbohydrates in the past hour. What advantage is provided by increasing blood sugar above normal levels in times of stress? How would high levels of adrenocorticotropic hormone [ACTH] affect secretions of cortisol from the adrenal glands? How would high levels of cortisol affect ACTH?

Insulin is a hormone released by pancreatic cells. It helps in controlling the blood sugar level and maintain it to normal if there is increase in blood glucose. It binds to the liver cells and activate the intake of glucose molecules by liver. After this intake, the glucose molecules are stored in form of glucagon. This way blood glucose levels is reduced from the blood and maintained to a normal range.
