2. Solve the following system of equations. Neatly organize and show all work. Use good notation. x+3y-z 12

x +y +2z =0 ---(1)

x +3y -z = 12 ---(2)

3x -2y +z = -5 ---- (3)

Subtract equation 1 from :

2y -3z = 12 ----(4)

Multiply equation 2 with 3 and subtract from equation 3:

Eq (2) x 3 : 3x +9y -3z = 36

3x -2y +z = -5

------------------------ (subtract)

11y -4z = 41 ----(5)

solve equation 4 and 5 to get y and z:

y = 3 ; z= -2

substitute in equation 1 to get x:

x +3 -4 =0 ---> x=1
