6.) A ball is dropped from a height of 24 feet. After each bounce, the ball rebounds to a height which is equal to one half of the previous height from which it fell. Determine the maximum height attained after the fourth bounce. 7) Expand the following binomial using the binomial theorem (a + 2b) a42y3b3 a (2b))

Solution

After the first bounce, by the given condition, the ball reboundsto a height of 12 feet and after the second bounce the ball rebounds to a height of 6 feet.

Proceeding like this we get after the fourth bounce the maximum height attained by the ball is 1.5 feet.
