A large thin plate of cross-section 150 mm X 2 mm is subjected to uniform biaxial tensile force 100 N. The plate contains a small hole of radius a. Calculate the stresses (sigma_r, sigma_theta and tau_r theta) in polar co-ordinate sy (r, theta) by applying method of superposition. Also obtain the stress fields if the plate is solid (without a hole).
