The sheep HEMOGLOBINs reference range is 914 G100ml Indicate
The sheep HEMOGLOBIN\'s reference range is 9-14 (G/100ml). Indicate both the HEMOGLOBINOMETER value and the TALLQUIST value you obtained in the lab and if they were IN or OUT of the reference range. Give one reason for your result. Was one of your value more accurate than the other. Briefly explain your answer. (sheep blood was used for this experiment)
Hemoglobinometer value: 13.2 g Hb/100 ml of blood
Tallquist value: 12.5 g Hb/100 ml of blood
Solution
The Tallquist hemoglobin scale allows quick assessment. In this test blood is allowed to be abskrbed into test papers and compared to the colour scale to determine the conc of hemoglobin. Though it is one of the quickest methods , it is totally u satisfactory with high degree of error.
Hemoglobinometer is used by spectrophotometric measurement. They gi e accurate and fast results.
So the value shown by hemoglobinometer should be considered rather than tallquuists method.
