Why do sociologists find it important to differentiate between sex and gender? What importance does the differentiation have in modern society?

According to the definition Sex refers to the biological difference between the male and female on the basis of the genetial parts,internal organ, hormone differences etc.

Whrears the Gender refers to the difference between the male and female depending on the masculine and femiline characteristics developed by the society..!!!

This difference plays a major role in the society while differentiating between the male and female as comparison with respect to Sex biological can cause problems in thinking, different cultures etc. People don\'t want to discuss this biological term as they fell ashamed to talked about it..!!
