Which of the reagents could be used to differentiate between
Solution
2) Starch can be added to the solution A containing glucose water containing solution and The presence or absence of starch in the solutions can be tested using iodine (I2). Iodine forms a blue to black color with starch. It donot react with Glucose and the color remains yellow. In the absence of amylase in solution A, the blue color of the starch-iodine complex will persist.
Or If starch is added to solution B, the solution will be blue when iodine is added but the color is lost with time as the amylase enzyme convert starch to glucose. Where as in Solution A containing only glucose and water retains yellow color.
b) Whole milk is more creamier than skimmed milk. whole milk and skimmed milk can be differentiated easilly using food color experiment. Food color is less dense than milk and hence floats on the surface of milk. When soap is added to this, the surface tension of the milk is reduced as the soap dissolves the fat molecules. With the surface, the food coloring moves. This is seen in whole milk when compared to skimmed milk
