Dear Physics expert,
I do believe my answer is correct, but I\'m having a hard time justifying it. If my answer is correct, justify it. If not, please find the correct answer and justify it.
3) Consider two less-than-desirable options. In the first you are driving 30 mph and crash head-on 3) 3)(- On into an identical car also going 30 mph. In the second option you are driving 30 mph and crash head-on into a stationary brick wall. In neither case does your car bounce off the thing it hits and the collision time is the same in both cases. Which of these two situations would result in the greatest impact force? A) hitting the other car B) hitting the brick wall COThe force would be the same in both cases. D) We cannot answer this question without more information. E) None of these is true. Solution
Impact force * time interval = change of momentum of the car. In both cases the time interval is same, and the change of momentum of the car is also same. So the impact force will be same.
