Describe at least two differences between animal and plant cells that you observed after examining each under a microscope
Solution
Animal cells and plant cells are both types of eukaryotic cells. Since all eukaryotic cell possesses a characteristic cellular structure, so the cells between animals and plants are also similar. But, there lies some major differences among these two types of cells.
The differences between animal and plant cells could be identified by viewing under the microscope and the following features would be found:
| Animal cell | Plant cell |
| Small cells round or circular in shape | Small cell with defined edges. Long hexagonal in shape |
| Absence of cell wall surrounding the cell membrane | A thick prominent cell wall is observed around the cell membrane |
