A docking station can be said as a device in which other devices can be placed so that the devices can get charged. it acts as a source of power supply so surely if a continuous larger amount of time you are giving power supply to any device definately if will effect the system battery. eg: real life example is what will happen if you will overeat your daily diet surely vomit or stomach ache etc. logically the battery is having cells and if you daily continuously charge your device surely the cells in battery try to swell which causes the probs.
