In the following circuit R1165 Ohm R24 1 Ohm R34 1 Ohm R42 1
In the following circuit, R1=16.5 Ohm, R2=4* 1 Ohm, R3=4* 1 Ohm, R4=2* 1 Ohm, R5=16.5 Ohm. Calculate the equivalent resistance of the circuit. [Picture File - Ohm-1.jpg]
Solution
R1 = 16.5 ohm
R2 = 4(1 ohm) = 4 ohm
R3 = 4(1ohm) = 4 ohm
R4 = 2(1ohm) = 2ohm
R5 = 16.5 ohm
R2 ,R3 ,R4 are in parallel.
Let the resultant of these three resistors be R then,
(1/R)=(1/R2)+(1/R3)+(1/R4)
= (1/4)+(1/4)+(1/2)
= 1
R = 1ohm
R1,R,R5 are in series.
So, equivalent resistance Req = R1+R+R5
= 16.5 ohm + 1ohm+16.5 ohm
= 34 ohm
