Determine the final temperature of the tank, in degreeC.

Solution

NO heat is transfered during the process

therefore work done   = change in potential energy

Work done = 1 * 10^5 * 0.75   = 75000 J

Change in potential Energy   = m * Cv * (Tf - Ti)

                                          = 1.225 * 0.75 * 718 * (Tf - 298)   = 659.6625 (Tf - Ti)

Tf - 298 = 75000 / 659.6625

Tf = 411.6945 K
