The Thomas Brown Foundation is a fundraising and development
The Thomas Brown Foundation is a fundraising and development organization for the Alberta Symphony Orchestra and the Brown Art Museum. The Thomas Brown Foundation has a board of directors and eight full- and part-time staff members, including an executive director. The board has authorized the staff to move into larger quarters in an office building. One part of the move involves networking the computers used by the staff, which has not been done in the old office. The staff uses Windows 7 Professional.
Once a week, the chairperson of the board of directors drops into the present office to work for the Foundation and is expected to do the same in the future office. The executive director uses Mac OS X Lion on her laptop computer, and she wants to have a network connection available. The Foundation hires you through Network Design Consultants to assist with the network design.
The Foundation is interested in exploring how it might take advantage of cloud computing for office software, fundraising software, and backing up its data. Prepare a brief report that explains how cloud computing might be of value to the Foundation.
Solution
Cloud computing:-Basically cloud is a Internet. When talk about cloud computing and it’s application and data that we access through the Internet rather than accessing it from own computer’s internal storage.
The cloud enables users to run application and access their files as long as access to the Internet Software as a service (Saas) model. In Saas model user never needs to pay large expenditure for hardware, software and technical support people, instead they ‘rent’ the application from an external body.
Cloud Computing Benefits for Organization:
Mainly cloud computing improves productivity, increases efficiency, improves cash flow and offers a range of cost-saving, time-saving benefits.
A survey by Fort & Sullivan found that organization that invested in cloud technology saw a 400% return on investment.
Reduction of capital investment and small running costs:
The biggest advantage of cloud-based applications is the fact that you only pay for what you use. If you haven’t massive capital expenses once required to deploy local system.if your number of employee increases, you pay for those extra users.
Scalability Advantages:
Suppose that your organization may be expanding in future and using cloud–based application. For example, if you have just been asked to upgrade and increase the capacity of present cloud-based application and provide security.
Increased and unlimited mobility of your organization:
In your organization and application being safety stored away with your cloud service provider, all you need a browser and internet connection to access all software application anywhere at this time. Picture your staff accessing and important information while onsite at a client location or a worker.
Increased Security:
Cloud service provider is keeping your all information is in the cloud, no one will be able to access it if a laptop or mobile device is stolen. If you store data in offline directory or any other devices then it’s information may be destroy or corrupt.
Increases collaboration between people:
Cloud-based applications are often designed to encourage team member to work more effectively than in the past. Collaboration of people and project will boom once you have a platform for your people to work together, no matter where they are in a country .
Document Control:
When you make the move to cloud computing, all files are stored centrally and everyone see of the truth. The more employees and partners collaborate on documents, the greater the need for watertight document control. And as even the smallest companies becomes more global, the scope of complication rises.
Environment Friendly:
In your organization using a windows 7 professional software but in the windows 7 operating system have less security so that your data and information may be loss and corrupt.
When your cloud needs fluctuate, your server selfish act. The environment gets a little love too. When your cloud needs fluctuate, your server capacity scales up and down to fit. So you only use the energy you need.
Conclusion:
Cloud computing is a useful tool to cut costs. through cloud you can save time and money . if you want to shifting organization in anywhere it helpful and its security is high
