The cell membrane has a fludity due to phospho lipid molecules and this phospoho lipid sea has an ice berg of protiens ( which make it moisac ) so it is described as having both fludity and being a moisac of protien patch work. The cell membrane is neither a solid nor a liquid ,

Following functions belong to protiens:

CARBOHYDRATES are attatched to both proteins and lipids, they have signalling function , and they are found mostly on the external side of the membrane

And comming to Lipids PHOSPHOLIPIDS are the component the membrane is basically made of that is why it is called Phospholipid-Bilayer
