Explain how the genetic information in DNA is converted to m

Explain how the genetic information in DNA is converted to mRNA. Include the importance of the base-pairing rule in this process.

Solution

Answer:

The information in DNA is in the form of codon (three succesive nucleotides). During the transcrption, RNA polymerase enzyme involves in the transfer of information from the DNA to RNA.

DNA consists Adenine, Guanine. Thymine and Cytosine nitrogen bases.

RNA consists of Adenine, Guanine. Uracil and Cytosine nitrogen bases.

Adenine of DNA always pairs with Uracil of RNA by two hydrogen bonds whereas Thymine of DNA pairs with Adenine of RNA by two hydrogen bonds.

Guanine of DNA always pairs with Cytosine of RNA by three hydrogen bonds or vice versa
