Solution

5. R2 and R3 are in series

So R23 = R2+R3 =2.74

Now R23 and R1 are in parallel

so Reqv = R23.R1/(R1+R23) = .6717 ohm

6. voltage = 13.5

SO I =13.5/.6717 = 20.098 A

5a. Find the equivalent resistance of this combination of resistors. b. if there is a voltage of 13.V between points a and b, what is the current through R1? 5.
