You have a customer who usually watches DVDs on her computer but would also like to watch TV shows directly on her PC. Additionally, she’d like the ability to record some of the TV shows on her computer. Her computer is new but doesn’t have these capacities. What is the most common upgrade she needs to fulfill her requirements?
A. She needs to have a PCI Express TV tuner card installed, which will satisfy all her requirements.
B. She needs to have a PCI Express TV tuner card and a PCI Express video capture card installed to meet her requirements.
C. She needs to have a SCSI TV tuner card installed, which will satisfy all her requirements.
D. She needs to have a SCSI TV tuner card and a SCSI video capture card installed to meet her requirements.
Solution
A and C. Although SCSI parallel (SPI) interfaces are still common, they are being replaced by Serial Attached SCSI (SAS), which retains the original SCSI technology but employs a serial design. Very few companies still market SCSI interfaces for motherboards supporting PCIe and PCI-X (PCI-X is a double-wide version of the PCI bus that satisfies the higher bandwidth requirements of servers).
