Two forces are applied to the construction bracket as shown

Two forces are applied to the construction bracket as shown. Determine the angle theta which makes the resultant of the two forces vertical. Determine the magnitude R of the resultant.

Solution

P makes angle @ with x then x component Px = -290cos@

x -component of F : Fx = 725cos70

if resultant R is in vertical then summation of x-components will be zero.

Px + Fx = 0

-290cos@ = 725cos70

@ = 31.23 deg .........Ans

then R = 725sin70 + 290sin31.23 = 831.66 N ....Ans

Two forces are applied to the construction bracket as shown. Determine the angle theta which makes the resultant of the two forces vertical. Determine the magn
