Two similar regular pyramids have slant heights of 2 and 8. the volume of the smaller pyramid ia 10. Find the volume of the larger pyramid.
Solution
The ratio of their corresponding sides (that is slant heights) = 8/2 = 4 ( larger to smaller)
For similar figures,
Ratio of volumes is cube root of ratio of sides.
Hence, Volume of larger pyramid = 43* volume of smaller pyramid
= 64* 10 = 640
