PROBLEM #3. Let AB and CD be two line segments such that AB = CD Prove that either (i) A = C and B D, or (ii) A = D and B = C.

Solution

Given line segments AB and CD are equal

Which implies both start and end poins must be equal

i)conside A as start point of segment AB and C as start point of segment CD

=> A=C and B=D

ii)If A as start point of segment AB and D as start point of segment CD

=>A=D and B =C

We can san that A,B can be matched with C,D in two different ways
