Solution

There was a negotiation stand off between Party A and Party B. They could not come to an agreement which would lead to a win - win situation. The reason for this stand off was each party wanted their end of the bargain to be met without considering the other party\'s goals.

One of the important impact that goals have on negotiaiton are that one\'s goals are often linked to the other party\'s goals.

Hence, a smart individual from Party A walked up to the main negotiator from Party B and suggested that instead of trying to win the entire argument let us each concede some ground so that we can reach an agreement and close the deal.

The negotiator from Party B agreed and members from both parties sat down to re negotiate where they had a discusion and came to a common ground where the goals of both parties could be met.
