I NEED AS MANY STEPS SHOWN AS POSSIBLE PLEASE I am having a hard time with this topic
A king has two children. What is the probability that both are boys, given that
a) the first child born is a boy?
b) at least one child is a boy?
Solution
a) Prob that both are boys given first one is a boy= Prob that second one is a boy = 0.5
---------------------------------
b) Prob that atleast one is a boy = P(1 boy or 2 boys) = 1-P(2 girls) = 1-(0.5)(0.5) =0.75
