Three different levels of the factor, Percutaneous Solax, were tested to dermine if concentration will affect the yield of a pharmaceutical chemical, Ex-Pharma. The experiments run using 3 different catalytic vessels as a blocking factor. An ANOVA table with some of the values omitted is presented below : Analysis of Variance for Response, Y. Yield

Solution

DF factor = SS Factor / MS Factor = 18.81 / 9.40 = 2

DF Block = DF Total - DF error - DF Factor = 2

Levels of factor = 2+1 =3

Levels of blocking = 2+1 = 3

No. of experiments run = 3*3 = 9

F statistic = MS Factor / MS Error = 9.4/2.48 = 3.8

P Value = P(F2,4 > 3.8) = 0.119

As P-Value> 0.05, result is not significant.

Hence, Answer: B
