If the respiratory system fails the body will try to compensate it with the urinary system..!! It will result in the secretion of the certain substances from the body hence maintain the blood pH in the body..!!

The kidneys help maintain the blood Ph mainly by excreting hydrogen ions and reabsorbing bicarbonate ions when needed depending on the body pH..!!

In case of acidosis more bicarbonate are reabsorbed from tubular secretion and hydrogen released from other ends and vice - versa in case of alkalosis..!!
