the major difference between public and private good is

public goods are non-rival and non-excludable whereas private goods are rival and excludable. Due to non-rivalry and non-excludability feature of public good, nobody wants to pay for public good and everyone tries to free ride. they know even if they don\'t pay, public prk will be maintained. that\'s why government needs to intervene and supply public goods. whereas in case of private good as good is exclusively for you, so you have to pay for it
