One of the basic processes during development of an embryo that helps establish unique populations of cells is differential gene expression. Explain how access to the chromosome or gene, promoter/enhancer interactions, and mRNA splicing can all be part of how gene expression/protein expression is regulated. (10-15 complete sentences)

Solution

Protein synthesis is done by a process called translation and its process starts at the very beginning. DNA is converted to RNA by transcription and RNA to protein by translation. DNA sequence is the main factor responsible for the coding of any protein. That is why Chromosome structure and formation of heterochromatin or euchromatin is very important in the regulation of gene expression.

there are several modifications happening in the chromosome and histones which determine the fate of chromatin. for example, acetylation leads to the euchromatin and increase in the gene expression of particular protein.

After DNA synthesis, the RNA polymerase binds to the promoter region of the DNA and transcribe the RNA. It is very important to have a correct promoter for the RNA synthesis. If promoter region has any mutation then the RNA synthesis will not occur.

mRNA splicing is important because it removes the noncoding RNA(introns) and does the joining of exons. that is how a complete coding RNA is synthesized.
