Why is test data necessary in current artificial intelligence research - can someone give me a brief and some pros/cons on this . Thanks

Here are some examples if you do not understood my question - e.g. why the artificial intelligence researchers need it ? what is lacking in the test data? why the test data is important to artificial intelligence ? why is the test data necessary? why the current AI research require test data? could talk about the self driving cars? first of all, an artificial intelligence is the intelligency that is extended and exhibited by the computers.

so generally the ai researchers used to solve the complex and intricated problems by the use of the computers, why they use the computers when they are the experts in this field. so i want totell you the anwer for that is as we all are humans we sometimes makes some errors so to overcome all these errors and to give an errorless answers.

so definitely a computer or a machine is capable to give a errorless answer but there also lies some tolerancers and clearances for the machine that it will allow the error of a product upto that.

example of a machine i.e.used to check the quality and also errors . the machine is coordinating measuring machine used to check the quality of the product this also use the computer system to detect the errors.

so thats why artificial intelligence research is required.

2. now we take the test data , this test data is actually use to assess the performance of the particular product.

and the major thing that is lacking in test data is AI data standards are not open nd there is no specific training for that, and also there is no awareness and no benefit to the society if no instituitions take initiative to make the students or professionals to guide on ai and there standards.

3.so generally an AI take one or more arguments or commands from the user and there is one learning method task to check input arguments and calculating the output vector and compare it with actual answer vector and make it to somehow nearby answer vector . in this way you can say the artificial intelligence machines take the input and covert into output vector so the test data is necessary in the ai research.

4. and now we go to self driving cars where the drivers are actually not physically available but it reduces the human errors and increase personal mobility and also sometimes for economical benefits.

self driving cars : these cars are actually equiped with gps ,radar,lidar etc. systems to navigate and thereare some sensors which actually sense the objects on thei own and navigate the car accordingly in the city streets .

advantages of ai research:

1.they have high performance and actually increase the productivity

2.they are more reliable and efficient.

3. they actuallydiagnose the problems and also explains the problems so that a user can easily understand it and modify it.

disadvantages:

1. they are not open standards so that can easily understandable by anybody.

2. they are not economical friendly as you can see the cost incued on the research and machine is huge.

they are sometimes incapable of refining their knowledge.

and sometimes the self driving cars are used as explosives in wars.

we can find many applications in war and image operated surgeries like total knee replacement and angioplasties.
