Solution

Springtails carry sperm from male to female. The rate of fertilisation in mosses increases in presence of spring tails. Springtails are more attracted towards female compared to males due to certain attractants produced by females are different compared to males. The chemicals produced by females are different among themselves too. So we can say sex specific components mediate fertilisation in mosses thro springtails. If there are no springtails in the envionment of mosses then fertilisation will be much slower. Hence springtails are important for mosses survival.
