Relation between the correlation coefficient and slope of the the regression line:-

(1)If the correlation coefficient is equal to 0,r=0 then no linear relation exist between x and y .

(2)If r<0 then there is a negative relationship between the variable and slope is negative.As one of the variable increases the other variable decreases

3)If r>0 then there is a positive relation between the x and y.It mean the slope of the regression line is positive.
