12) (8 points) A painter needs to cover a triangular region 60 meters by 66 metersby 72 meters. A can of paint covers 70 square meters. How many cans will be needed?

Solution

Area of triangle= sqrt(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))

s=(a+b+c)/2

In the given question a= 60m, b=66m,c=72m

s= (60+66+72)/2=99

Area= sqrt(99(99-60)(99-66)(99-72))=sqrt(99* 39*33*27)= 1854.76 m2

number of cans needed=1854.76/70=26.5 cans
