Use the graph of fx below gx 2x 3 and the table of hx for 91

Use the graph of f(x) below, g(x) 2x 3, and the table of h(x) for 9-10. or 1 2 3

Solution

We have given the graph of f(x)

Also g(x) = 2x + 3

Here slope = coefficient of x = 2

y-intercept = 3

Now consider the graph of function f(x).

COnsider any two points on the line are (-2,1) and (-1,2).

Now find slope and y-intercept as :

slope = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

= (2-1) / (-1-(-2)) = 1/1 = 1

slope = 1

Therefore the equation of the line is,

(y-y1) = slope*(x-x1)

(y - 1) = 1 * (x-(-2))

y-1 = x+2

y = x+2 + 1

y = x+3

Therefore slope = 1

y-intercept = 3

ANd for function g(x) :

slope = 2

y-intercept = 3

Comparison : Here y-intercept for both the lines are same but slopes are different.

SLope of the line g(x) is greator than that od line f(x).
