A)
Biodiversity encompasses all biological agents in a particular area. These will include all plants and animal species present in a specified area. Biodiversity of a particular area keeps on changing with time. This is because of continuously changing environment, which result in variations, mutations, extinction, and evolution.
Species extinction is a natural process. When a particular plant or animal fitness reduces, it means that this species is unable to survive in the new ever changing environment. In such a case, it is better for the environment to get rid of this unfit species, and replace it with the mutated species or a totally new species. This process is known as evolution and will result in creation of new biodiversity. Please note that biosphere will remain as it is. The total number of species on the biosphere will also remain the same. That is what is happening from millions of years.

It is not necessary to save all species on Earth. Some species have large biomass, others have small. The smaller species with less biomass have less demand of food and resources from the environment. Moreover, species survival in a particular environment depends on its fitness. So, for an environment, it is always favorable to behold large number of small species with more fitness and less biomass, in comparison to small number of large species. One good example is the extinction of dinosaurs. These organisms had very large biomass, and extremely large size. They were using lot of resources from our environment. So, they became extinct with change of time and environment.
Another important consideration is that it is not essential to save all species at the same point of time. We can save the limited number of highly endangered species of plants and animals in zoos and botanical gardens also. There they can be preserved in sustained environmental conditions. In near future, if the environment changes again, then they can be made to grow again. Even in the present scenario they can be returned to wild environment after performing genetic manipulation on them. Genetic manipulation will change their genomes and make it fit for the present environment.
