Find an example of a function that is used in your field of study or interest. That is, look around you in your reading, activities and study throughout your day for an example of a relationship between two variables whose relationship is a function. You do not have to fully understand your topic, do major research, or write a long report. I am looking for you to communicate about one way that you have observed functions (algebra) being used in the world you live in. Your response to this assignment should be unique to you. I am interested in measuring / predicting temparatures of different regions and compare them to find the effect of of other environmental factors on the temparature. Since the temparature is measured in Foreignheit in some regions and Celcius in some regions, I have to convert them to one unit say Celcius. The relation between Foreignheit and Celcius is

C = 5/8(F-32)

For every value of F there will be a corresponding C. So it is a one to one relationship

If we say X = F and Y = C the function can be written as

Y = 5/9(X-32) of

f(X) = 5/9(X-32)
