Find the length of the intercepted arc to the nearest hundre

Find the length of the intercepted arc (to the nearest hundredth) if the central angle and radius are given. (a) theta = 2.90, r = 2 cm cm (b) theta = 2 pi/3, r = 13 cm cm

Solution

r=radius

Theta is the central angle

L is the length of arc

A)

L=r*theta

r=2

Theta=2.90

L=2*2.90=5.80cm

B)

L=r* theta

L=13*2pi/3=26pi/3cm=27.21cm

Where pi=3.14
