If I considered my point of view the policy is not sensible if we are download ebooks from websites which provides illegal download and you risk a lot by using such types of websites But there are some other types of websites which offers you free legal downloads of copyrighted stuff some for welfare of students purposes and some for advertisement of their websites if you download ebooks from these website then this is a legal and smart approach

But you have to keep in mind some point before downloads a ebook because it somehow effect the author and book publishing companies-

1-Before download a book please go through the policies of websites and search weather the ebook is genuine or illegal.Only download if the book is genuine and website provides you copy right stuff

2- Never make or download a book which is photocopy/photograph/videos of copyrighted item.

3-Just place yourself and think atleast one time before downloading the ebook from illegal source with the author point of view.you somewhere really believe it is not sensible idea.
