1st we will count in ounce

16*2.5 = 40. ounces

mix is currently 3/16, that means there are 40*3/16 ounces of peas=7.5 ounces

He wants to have a mix of 5/16, that means he wants 40*5/16 ounces of peas. 40*5/16 = 12.5 ounces

If he has 7.5 ounces of peas and wants 12.5 ounces of peas, it means   (22.5-7.5 = 5 ounces) he will need to add 5 ounces answer
