We have to work on home work and it involved a great deal of engineering math. Lets review few problems related to engineering math:

Make the following conversions:



a. Convert 0.34 seconds to milliseconds.

b. Express 0.0005 x 10^-4 farads as picofarads.

Solution

a.) 1 second = 1000 milliseconds

So, 0.34 seconds = 0.34*1000 milliseconds

= 340 milliseconds

b.) 1 farad = 10^12 picofarads

So, 0.0005 * 10^-4 farads = 0.0005 * 10^-4 * 10^12 picofarads

= 0.0005 * 10 ^8 picofarads

= 50,000 picofarads
