A sinusoidal voltage has a maximum amplitude of 30 V. The voltage completes one oscillation cycle in 1 ms. The amplitude of the voltage at zero time is 20V.

a-What is the angular frequency of the voltage?

b- What is the RMS value of the voltage?

Solution

maximum amplitude =30-20=10 volts.

T=1msec

f=1/T=1/(1*10^-3)=1000 HZ

w=2*3.14*1000=6283.185 ad/sec

vrms=10.sin(6283.185t) volts

we know vrms=vm/1.414

vrms=10/1.414=7.072 volts.
