A 100MVA generator has H 42 MJMVA and 250MVA machine operat

A 100-MVA generator has H = 4.2 MJ/MVA, and 250-MVA machine, operating in parallel with the first, has H = 3.6 MJ/MVA. Calculate the equivalent inertia constant H for the two machines on a 50 MVA base. 26.4 MJ/MVA

Solution

GIVEN:

THEREFORE:

Total KE = (100 x H1) + (250 x H2)   ;    KE: KINETIC ENERGY.

Total KE = (100 x 4.2) + (250 x 3.6) = 1320 MJ

HEQUIVALENT ON 50 MVA BASE = (1320 MJ / 50 MVA) = 26.4 MJ/MVA

 A 100-MVA generator has H = 4.2 MJ/MVA, and 250-MVA machine, operating in parallel with the first, has H = 3.6 MJ/MVA. Calculate the equivalent inertia constan
